Hi Rebecca,

Someone more talented than myself might be able to give you a succinct answer but IMHO I'd get a book like Mastering Enterprise Javabeans - Ed Roman et al which is brilliant.

This dedicates over 100 pages on transactions and security and is the best EJB book I've read so far.
