Hi all,

I'm not an expert in J2EE but I was having a question from quite sometime..

If I wanted to have distributed databases and CMP entity beans then would Oracle Cluster work for me? I would guess that the mapping of the Entity Beans to the database table would depend on the Appserver we are using but given that is it possible to have distributed database backend in J2EE?

My confusion arises as I have not used Oracle Clusters anytime and not much of J2EE either. When I used J2EE we used, CMP entity beans and there I did mapping of entity beans to the database tables and I wondered what if I had distribued database instead..In that case my one entity bean might have to be mapped to multiple tables on multiple hosts... OR may be when we use Oracle Cluster there is a seamless way provided by Oracle only to deal with it but as you see I'm having many threads of questions in my mind

If anybody is aware of how to use distributed database backend in J2EE application please let me know ...It would be great help for me...

I believe it might be difficult if we have too much specific "distriubtio policy" for our needs but that would be question to be asked later...

Regards
Maulin

okay, let me put this other shorter way,

"how can I have my distributed database work with CMP entity beans?".
