So, when can we expect to be able to deploy a Seam app in the JBoss AS 5 Beta?

I think you already can.

Take the 4.2.0 examples and try deploy them. You will probably see a few ClassNotFound errors -- track down those classes and add them to your WAR/EAR.

Unfortunately, no doesn't work.

Sorry for the personal agenda, was trying to be funny, while also seeing if I could push that agenda a little at the same time.

Oh, well. At least it *used* to work. When JBoss AS 5 first came out, Gavin released a "special edition" of Seam for it, which basically just adds a few JARs to the app. I was not aware of the deployment scanner issue.

But I am sure Seam will run on JBoss AS 5 when we are done with the AS 4.2 work.

JBoss 5 has introduced some features which break compatibility with some of things we are doing in Seam. We'll definitely be making it work, but until JBoss 5 is a bit closer to final, it's not a huge priority.

That being said, if you wanted to contribute a fix now, I'll make sure it gets into Seam 1.3.

You know if you make that threat, we will contribute.
