Have you tried using an IDE like Eclipse/MyEclipse and have it generate an MDB bean for you to see how to set it up?

Most of the work in MDBs really has nothing to do with the bean. Its more setting up the JMS connection factory and the queue/topic on the server. Once those are configured, the MDB part is pretty easy.

Hi Scott,

I did Session beans and Entity beans using WSAD 5.1.2 but I cannot find a tutorial for MDBs using WSAD. I have other IDEs too on my local machine. I have Eclipse 3.1.2 (No Application server) and RAD 7.0. If you know any tutorial on any IDE, on how to do a sample project with JMS and MDBs... can you please share it? It will really help me a lot.

Thanks.

I can't think of any off hand, but really its just a session bean with a single onMessage() method (instead of many methods session beans have). I believe WSAD has the option to create one, the stuff you should really look into is tutorials on how to setup the queues and connections factories.
