I'm writing a cross-platform FTP server; primarily for use on Windows.
My problem involves Windows (of course!) and using the exists() method on the results of java.io.File.listRoots() -- the drive letter for the floppy, CD-ROM and ZIP drive cause a popup dialog.
The dialog (drive not ready) causes the server to wait for a mouse click. This is, of course, unacceptable.
I would like a way of filtering out "roots" that do not have media in a reasonable way.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
