Dos Window Flashs up ..

I have GUI which uses Runtime.exec ("cmd.exe /c ping 127.0.0.1")
iam able to capture the output, but the problem is Dos Window pops up
for a second and goes off.
Is there anyway to avoid this Dos window poping up.
