Hello all,
I have a production system running on jdk 1.3. Our client want to migrate us to jdk 1.3 Can someone tell me what are the issues we need to consider for migrating from jdk 1.3 to jdk 1.4? Is there any standard document available for such a migration?

You should be able to do this with no issues, since a newer version of the JDK doesn't remove any features. Its going the other way that's difficult...

You will have to watch how the program uses the word 'assert' as in 1.4 this is now a keyword. Thus compile incompatabilities may arrise from its non-compliant use.
Also I found a bug with static inner class referencing in 1.4 that was ok in 1.3.
Other than that the functionality should be compatible.

In addition, you should also check whether the methods in some classes have been depreciated.
If they are, you should update the source accordingly.
