I have these very clear questions about the content of the book.

These 400+ questions cater to interviewing candidates for which level of job?

Besdies, which part of java programming applications do these questions answer for? Will they apply for a web-developer / application-developer/ principal software engineer positions.

also, how many questions do this book have on design patterns and anti-patterns?

All Java/J2EE related postions require candidates to know the fundamentals. This means from junior to senior level and then to architect. At each level different level of fundamentals will be concentrated more. For example in Architect level you will be asked more questions on design concepts, design patterns, UML, development methodologies, integration technologies like JMS, SOAP Webservice etc. If you are junior to mid level then you will be asked more on OO concepts and language fundamentals.
