i came to know abt 1 guy got an offer (from product dev comp) for 7.5 Lac, when he switched with exp of 2.5 yrs .. 1 yr back

one should expect more from prod dev comp - as there is no on-site - & they know it & pay/compensate accordingly ...

IMHO - for 4.5 ..
Service - 8+
Prod - 9+

Hope this is helpful ..

It depends on so many factors - mainly on your negotiation skills, company's pay standards, your current salary, company's neediness to take you in, and last but not the least your interview performance and overall impression.

There is an excellent site ( 'Google: payscale') to know the average salary company wise, technology wise and market wise. Giving a look at it will give you a good idea.

In a very broader level, if you have 4+ years of experience, you CAN easily get 7.0 to 8.5 LPA in Bangalore. Of late, I have been doing some research on this.
