I am also developing a chat application, but it is embedded into a much larger application that I am working on. Are you planning on building a server and/or client side to use with the chat app?
A little more info would help so I could better help you.

Hi Gregg,
The thing is that even my chat appln is a part of a system (The GUI would be something close to that of AOL ). This wont be the core functionality of tha system. Basically right now I'm planning to use applets and using callbacks for the purpose.
I clould not get the exact meaning of our reply. Rather I was confused with the last statement(Client/Server). If you can please clarify, I would be thankful to you.
Any futher help is WELCOME !!!
With warm regards,
-Sid
