Array of Swing Box

Hi,
I can't seem to create array of horizontal boxes in my applet.
Box[] boxes = Box[4].createHorizontalBox();
does not work. Does anybody has a solution for this?

Box[] boxes = new Box[ 4 ];
for ( int i = 0; i < boxes.length; i++ ) {
    boxes[ i ].createHorizontalBox();
}
