Hoe do I create display and add components to a JWindow
I think JMenu cannot be added to JWindow .Is there any alternative.

Could your code be used as a sort of
message dialog(box).
I wold like to have some kind of splash screen, not really for anything but to display one line
of text describing some of my programs functions.
But the window would need to popup only one time, and either before the actual program started up, or by a button click.

For the purpose of Splash Screen you can subclass the JWindow and add functionalaty to paint for displaying text or images etc
For showing and hiding you can use timers
