The original conversation is here, but morphed to become a combination of missing books and problems with conversations.

I removed many of the original posts which can be found in the other version of this thread.

ew, bad vibes
I'll send an email to the publisher to check up, but as I said the initial delay was my fault as I was busy over the Christmas period.

Ken, I thought we weren't talking anymore? I'm confused. Please contact me.

I believe that Dave is referring to this topic in which you seemed to take great umbrage to the fact that someone (me) had a less stellar opinion of GWT than you did, and in which you said:

no further reply required from either author..i am out of this forum...

Apparently, that was taken to mean that you were done with JavaRanch. Glad to see that you are not -- just try to get less offended when someone has a differing opinion to your own.

no I was not offended but felt others try to attack me instead of technology. In fact on GWT forum I said many cons about GWT.

I am not upset nor hate someone for having difference of opinion. I think it goes towards you as well since you can't take anything against jQuery. I like Flex as well but people say nasty things about technology no problem neither of them develop by me. Just here to make money on something works for client. But someone should not direct to me or I or he or her..it happens on many forum.. anyways I like Javaranch without any doubts..

Please present any evidence you might have to support that I have gotten upset, or hated anyone, with regards to jQuery or any other technology that I am passionate about.

People will like or not like technologies. You can try to explain why you disagree, but in the end, you're unlikely to change people's mind unless you have a really good case. Getting upset about it doesn't help.

but felt others try to attack me

If you ever feel attacked on JavaRanch, you should bring it to the attention of a staffer -- even if you feel the attack is from a staffer (especially if its from a staffer). Just don't mistake disagreement with an attack.

anyways I like Javaranch without any doubts..

As I said, glad to hear it. A discussion is strongest when there are many points of view.

I moved this here in case we want to continue discussions.

From my side:

1) Book promotions has an email address and it is easily found on the promotion FAQ pages. Adding comments to an old thread is not the best way to address delivery problems.
2) With respect to the conversation between Ken and Bear, I side with Ken except Bear is a big bikie dude so Ken is on his own again. No other reasons given
3) Ken, I'm glad we misunderstood your "leaving the forum", but confusion like this is reduced when we are all careful of writing posts in haste.

I don't think there's much more to say. I think Ken understands that I was not attacking him, and I'm glad he's remaining part of the Ranch community.

Glen,
This thread started in the HTML/AJAX forum. It was moved here after it turned into a thread about administrative matters.
