hi everybody
i have written a servlet that takes username & password from HTML form & checks the values with values stored in a database.
if valid values then Welcome message comes & ihave to click on a link that shows next screen. if values are not valid Login failed message comes.
but i dont want to click on any link to see the next screen it should come directly.
what is the solution.
bye

What you need is the "meta refresh" tag understood by most browsers. For example:
<meta http-equiv='refresh' content='10; /welcome.html'>
<html>
<body><h2>Logged in OK. Please Wait</h2>
</html>
Will show the "Logged in OK" message for 10 seconds, then go to to the /welcome.html page.
