Hi, I was wondering what happened when we set content type like response.setContentType("application/vnd.ms-excel");
Does it invoke an instance of MS Excel?

Exactly what happens with various content types depends on how the user's browser is set up to handle them.

It also depends on how the web server and/or servlet container is set to handle them as well.
