Hi, I was wondering at what stage was attributes in ServletRequest.getAttribute() specified?

They are important when you are chaining servlets/JSPs using forwarding or inclusion. Then you can use the request attributes to pass objects from one servlet/page to the other (e.g. request-scoped JavaBeans).
