Is automatic servlet reloading is there in tomcat ?
If yes is it enabled by default ?
How to enable it otherwise ?

Yes, you can set in the server.xml file. This is for the "/examples" context:

        <Context path="/examples" 
                 docBase="webapps/examples" 
                 crossContext="false"
                 debug="0" 
                 reloadable="true" > 
        </Context>

You can see that there is an attribute called reloadable. Set it to true, for your application context also.
