tomcat not able to execute jsp pages

HI all
i have unzipped and installed tomcat webserver, and set the TOMCAT_HOME path to root directory of tomcat, and also made required changes to the web.xml, server.xml files but when i try to execute the examples in the tomcat it is not able to execute .jsp page and giving Internal server error, but it is able to execute .class files.
can any one please tell me the what is the problems.

Set the JAVA_HOME accordingly..
Example:
SET JAVA_HOME = C:\JDK1.2.1

Thank you for the information and yes that was the problem, i have set the JAVA_HOME to java root directory so it is working fine.
