hello everybody,
i have just started tinkering around with OAS for WIN2000.
But i am unable to figure out how and where the web.xml (if needed) needs to be kept .This is with regards to the URL Pattern for the servlet that is specified in the web.xml

IF anybody can help me with the structure of the application(say Test)
i would be very gratefull.

my DocumentRoot is :: "C:\ORACLE\iSuites\Apache\Apache/htdocs"

It goes in the WEB-INF directory of your web project.

I have tried that ... but it says "page not found"

The folder structure is as follows ..

htdocs (Document Root)
|
|Test
|
|WEB-INF
|
|classes/(TestServlet.java)
|
|web.xml

the web.xml is as follows

<?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1252'?>
<!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.2//EN" "http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/web-app_2_2.dtd">
<web-app>
<description>Empty web.xml file for Web Application</description>
<servlet>
<servlet-name>TestServlet</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>TestServlet</servlet-class>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>TestServlet</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/servlet/TestServlet</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
<session-config>
<session-timeout>30</session-timeout>
</session-config>
<mime-mapping>
<extension>html</extension>
<mime-type>text/html</mime-type>
</mime-mapping>
<mime-mapping>
<extension>txt</extension>
<mime-type>text/plain</mime-type>
</mime-mapping>
<welcome-file-list>
<welcome-file>index.jsp</welcome-file>
<welcome-file>index.html</welcome-file>
</welcome-file-list>
</web-app>

Also strangely there is a htdocs/WEB-INF that is already present .i tried copying my WEB-INF and classes but still no result .

I think the spacing got lost. I assume /classes and web.xml are in the WEB-INF directory?

In any event, this is more of a servlets question now than an OAS one, so I'm moving the thread to servlets.
