Hi, I'm new at EJB's and was trying out NetBeans 4.1 and was doing the tutorials. I created a bean and was using a servlet to call the Bean. Netbeans inserted "look up code" like this -

I'm sure everybody knows what this means, and its basic. I've been googling and trying to find out what "initial naming context" and "lookup" means but I could not find any useful information, hence my post here.

Could someone please tell me what I am looking at. Wht each line means Or gimme any links to site that explain this in a more 'understandable' manner.. thnkx!!

"Java Man",

We're pleased to have you here with us on the Ranch, but there are a few rules that need to be followed, and one is that proper names are required. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

Thanks!
