copying directories thru java code

i want to copy files from one directory to another. i tried recursive copying but it says access denied. how to get over this problem

Do you have security permissions to the target directory?

yeah i created the directory brand new.. also i tried with an existing dir that had all permissions

The problem may be because of the target directory security. i think you will be creating those directory with the help of java code. first manually try to copy from one directory to another and check it then try it using the code.
