Well that depends on how you define "famous".
Of course Michael and Marcus are famous to us java folk, but how do we know that others aren't more widely known for other reasons?

Kyle Brown, Peter Haggar, Bill Brogden.
Seems like I can't open a EJB book that doesn't thank Kyle for his assistance, and that's my private idea of 'famous': someone whose work is widely respected by his peers.
Practical Java continues to be an important book and I understand Peter makes the conference rounds quite regularly.
And if you haven't thought of Bill here, you just ain't looking. The guy's all over, helping people out. Tell him you appreciate his work already!

And of course if we expand "javarancher" to include folks who have visited but aren't regulars, we get people like Martin Fowler, Joshua Bloch, and those other two RHE authors...

I think I am the most famous person as I acted in the Eastham Amateur Players portrayal of "My Fair Lady".
Now, who can top that?
