I see lights on at all parts of the world at the same time ? How can it be dark (night) at all parts of earth at the same time

First of all, Its not a photo. Did you head any one saying 'say cheese'?
Here is a link to a NASA Page from where this image is hosted. As we all know, its not one photo or one exposure. I guess this image is generated by the information available to NASA from their satelites over a period of time.
