This week, we're delighted to have Stephen Stelting amongst us, helping to answer questions in the Java in General (intermediate) forum.

We'll be selecting four random posters in this forum to win a free copy of his book, Robust Java, provided by the publisher, Prentice Hall PTR.

Welcome Stephen!

According to amazon.com the book is written by Stephen Stelting and Stephen A. Stelting. Who of the two is online?

Hello everyone,

Thanks so much for letting me join in the ranching, Dirk! I'm on the "trailhead" this week - in Sydney, Australia - so there might be a little delay in my replies.

To answer Jan's question, we are one and the same. Amazon's site likes to put two author names on a book, so they've put me in twice. Of course, once their site has an entry, it's very difficult to get it changed... it took almost 3 months to convince them that the book title was "Robust Java" rather than "Applied Java Platform Exception Handling". Such are the challenges of working with the publishing industry...

Best wishes,
Steve

P.S. Thank you for the warm welcome, Ernest and Horatio. And thanks very much for the drink... the latte is great!

Great! When can I expect to see this book on the shelves? I've got a few developers in mind near me that I think could really benefit from this book.

Kidding aside, welcome to the Ranch! I look forward to some juicy questions this week.
