Was avoiding posting on this topic since it's a bit too close to home, but this morning I came across this interesting news article.
I'd probably heard about every possible conjecture of who they think this guy might be, but that one was a first. I'm not sure if I buy it though. For one, the guy would absolutely have to have help, because he seems too familiar with the area to have been here for only a short time. He's supposedly 25 and of Yugoslav descent, but otherwise there hasn't been much info released about the guy.
Oh well, just one of a number of theories that have been released on this subject.

I don't think so. I think whoever it is was planning it for some time, and I also personally believe there is more than one person involved.

Yeah, I've been listening to a local DC station (WTOP) on the net today, and it's pretty much been that story non-stop. The constant news conferences where they say absolutely nothing is getting a bit tiring though.
I heard that they have two guys in custody, but that they don't think either of them is the shooter. So if they have two people who are involved and yet neither is the shooter, that's even more disturbing and sounds like organized terrorism to me.

I heard a news conference a couple of hours ago. I want to know why the police would call a news conference just to send someone out to say "we are not going to say anything at this time."

How don't know how you guys think about it. I don't have much confidence in those cops and FBI. I think they underestimated the sniper's IQ.
1. He left a note and they asked him to call back from the number, would he ? and they thought he approached a public Richmond phone station next morning ? Is he an idiot or what ? CNN just showed the two detained men are not linked to sniper case.
2. They always think the sniper would escape driving the van after the shooting because witness saw the van. Now, even he really used a white van, why did he have to pick those highway to escape ? Why can't he drive into a local community and park the van in a street and then walk back to the scene to have fun, and went back to pick his van a few hours later after everything has been cleared ? I don't think he would take the risk of going on highway to escape because we know the police shut down the highway very quickly and closed all exits.

Chilly questions... what if this is indeed a terrorist? what if these random killings are just target practice? Is the killer waiting for a Bastille Day?

Another one this morning, closer to the first cluster. The roads into and out of Montgomery County are basically locked down, particularly in the directions of the District, PG County, and Howard County (for those of you familiar with the area) from what I hear on traffic reports.
It seems some of the message from Saturday night's shooting is being leaked to the press. News reports are that it was written in broken english and included threats on schools, which would explain why the area surrounding the last shooting in Virginia closed their schools.

This sniper seems to be extremely tricky, and so far apparently he has out smarted police. I doubt he really wants to demand a lot of money as what's hinted in the note he left in woods to police. If he really wants money, he can easily get it using his gun, it should be an easy thing for this guy. How risky it is to demand money from police ? Plus, why does he randomly pick innocent people ? I think he just wants to 'revenge' or embarrassing the police or FBI in this unique way. He wants to prove he is smarter than police/FBI. What do you guys think about his motivation ?

Im in Montgomery county and today my office of 4500 people is absolutely quiet . The parking lot is almost 75% empty . Half my team is working from home. I guess It will start to fill up once the traffic situation eases out.
Its crazy.
Btw I think the Police are absolutely clueless. Mr Charles Moose's plan of having media conferences(almost twice Daily) has backfired badly because he now seems to be begging the Killer to call . All of a sudden he does not seem to be in charge.
Also are these Cops Crazy??.....this killer is definitely smart enough not to use a white Astro van(with a ladder rack) again and again . But I guess thats all the cops have.
Im curious if someone leaves in an Astro Van from the first kill would imply that its a killer for sure.
