An afterthought, would the second of those links work for corned-beef? I haven't seen SPAM on sale here in Switzerland.

Why would anybody make those on purpose??
Occasionaly in a pinch, if you are camping and ran out of REAL food perhaps. . .

SPAM: Squirrel, Possum And Mouse.
note I said Mouse -- not Moose -- wouldn't want our new Sheriff friend to get upset.

For Christmas '99 my mother sent me a Y2K survival kit, in case the lights went out, heat turned off, world came to an end, etc.: a can of SPAM and a box of Twinkies.
I have since eaten the Twinkies. Havn't touched the SPAM.

"Creative British cooks devised the recipe for SPAM Fritters to spice up family meals during rationing, helping many to beat the wartime blues."
Imagine how bleak the food must have been if that was considered spicing it up!

I havent had spam fritters since I was a kid... Ugh! :sicksmiley-if-there-was-one:
Still you can get spam fritters and other such delicacy's such as cheese n' chips and deep fried Mars Bars at your local Fish n Chip shop (or just Chippie).
Next week, a flame war ensues in MD when an argument breaks out over whats better on a Fish Supper: Salt and Vinegar or Salt and Sauce?

Never tried a deep fried Mars bar, they don't seem to do them down south. Want to try one though.
As for s'n'v versus s'n's, its gotta be s'n'v every time. Just showing my roots I guess!

Oh no,
What you want is Salt and Brown sauce, "Salnsauce?" as pronounced in Edinburgh, not the thick gloopy HP sauce, but the watered down with vinegar kind.
Perfick!
