Java application's install directory the current working directory where the JVM was launched from.
These are NOT necessarily the same directory. user.dir is the current directory >> the second of above. The first of above can be anywhere, depending on your system and usages.
Paul, it's not where the JRE is installed (that's the user's JRE, and none of my business anyway). It's where the user is at when he launches the application that I want to know.
