"This is what they call outsourcing. I call it insourcing. Import foreign workers, mandate your American workers to train them, then lay off your Americans,"
i wouldn't do it. i would tell them to go f*** themselves. well i guess they wouldn't tell me what they were doing. what are we going to have to do? move to some third world country so we can afford to live on $10,000 a year? this crap of polititian doing favors for businesses and then getting paid back with high paying do-nothing jobs after they are out of office has got to go! Things are looking up though. 4 states to ban offshoring I sure do hope they ban offshoring and that the L1 visa is scrapped if not severely restricted. On the H1-B I dont have any issues as long as they enforce the minimum wage law and also rollback the number to 65000 per year. This will definetly boost the US economy because of the following reasons: 1. With L1 visas no longer a viable option companies will try for the H1-B which has the minimum wage clause. Hence spending will have to increase. 2. H1-Bs will not be easily available as people need to understand that out of the 65K visas available many will go towards renewing the visas of those already here and hence new people coming in will be very less. 3. L1 visas dissappearance coupled with the banning of offshoring will boost local employment and hopefully everything should return to a normal state. The other fact that I'd like to mention is that in view of recent events Americans shouldnt hate Indians. They should hate Large corporations. Indian workers are just doing what they are required to do to keep their jobs. Imagine if you were working for XYZ Corporation and were ordered to undertake an assignment in Timbuktu.. the company says they will pay you 3 times what you are recieving at home and its a temporary assignment. You will definetly accept it.. the fault is not with you but with that damn company. Another point to keep in mind is that while the worker may recieve very low wages the cost of getting the work done remains somewhat same. That is even though the worker earns only $35K the company that employs him still charges the American client $60K. The $25K is that company's profits. (Greedy Bastards!) Finally.. please move this to job discussion.
