What does this have to do with I/O and Streams? I'll move it to Java i General (Beginner)...

The answer is FALSE. One can create protected or private member interfaces. Check out section 9.1.1 of the Java language specification at http://java.sun.com/docs/books/jls/second_edition/html/interfaces.doc.html#35470 .
