Needing immediate attention of all Java experts

Friends,
Is it possible to create .exe files in Java.Does the jdk1.4 has a provision for it?If so does exe format affect the platform indepedency of java and how?Plz help me immediately,

Yes making an exe makes it platform DEPENDANT - that is why you have to download the correct version of the SDK to match your machine (java.exe, javac.exe etc as well as some of the REALLY low level classes work different).
WHY do you want and exe. As a rule I have found that there really is no need, just a perceived need.
