I dont think its his or his government's achievement in anyway. Its people like you and me who bring much needed FDI to the country who should get the credit.

Oh come on now, Tintin, IMHO its everybody's good work (including Vajpayee and his team). After all, in a country of a billion and that much of corruption and poverty, a lot of things could have happened sending warning signals to foreign investors! Last couple of years went generally well, and continuing the open-market approach was the right thing to do!
Ours is a democratic republic and it's the nations gain not individual's.

You forgot,Defence scam exposed by Tehlaka?BJP president was caught on camera accepting bribe. You forgot coffin scam? $40 coffin was purchased at $2000 to build houses in Switzerland by our BJP ministers? You forgot Gujrat riots? Govt was encourgaing its party workers to destroy and set fire minority properties and burn the people? In all these what was Vajpayee's position? nothing.
Globalization was inevitable, there is no turnback now. What great deal of work is required in allowing every multinational to do the business in India?Govt. is selling every(even profitable) PSU at lower cost.

Good Point, Casablanca. ABB and BJP have done nothing which merits any credit. Either on the Financial front or the Home Affairs front. If anything , they have fallen even more the Congress on the Home Affairs and other fronts. Whoever supports b******s like Modi , cannot have the moral conscience to lead the country.

Recent bombblsts here were the outcome of those riots.Ofcourse I am not supporting those, but there is pattern. In 1992,Advani and his workers detroyed 600 year old structure and bomb blasts followed.in 2002,again similar things and 2002/2003 we experienced again same things.Between 1950 to 1993,there was hardly any such blats etc (other than Kashmir). So who is worst now?

According to Outlook :
"Workers' remittances, or money sent home by emigrant Indians, have now touched $11 billion, pushing India to the top slot among all developing countries. That's five times our FDI, about 30 per cent more than our software earnings, 27 per cent of exports, 3 per cent of GDP and 73 per cent of regional remittance flows."
U still think that is due to BJP ? Wake Up.

what if he revoked the Manmohan Singh's policies because of which we are sending money home. [do you remember Swadeshi movement of 1977 or attack at KFC 1995/6]
No its not that only, going for privatisation is also a big step, conducting a nuclear test is also big acheivment, I might hate BJP but not ABV.
Gujrat, yes its a shame on ABV.
But then who is clean here, congress, can you forget 1984 riots, atleast I cant, it all happend infront my eyes ??
JD[which is now no where] , can you forget 1991 mandal commision.... [..still I oppose it]
Who else .. do you have choice ??
The only sad thing is that it could not prove itself different from any other party.

I agree with Ravish there. Also, let me remind you guys, that its easy to talk about ideal situations, they are nice too! But what we have in hand is a situation where we need to choose bad over worse. Its a shame, I agree, but the question most of the time we face is who is the lesser theif! Whos less likely to miss-use their powers and who's less corrupt!
As long as we measure the present admin with the prev. admins, IMHO they have done pretty Okay, if not better!
