While I know we have commented on that site before, let me re-iterate the point that that guy is a fking clueless idiot. While it's nice that some a-hole in Georgia is able to look at a couple of photographs and, with not even the slightest bit of actual expertise on the subject, come up with some paranoid fantasy, he fails to do even the most basic of research. For example, he fails to acknowledge the thousands of eye witnesses who saw it happen, or the video that they have of it happening (yeah, that nutcase probably thinks it was faked). A friend of mine was driving by at the time and stopped to render assistance. He mentioned to me the strong smell of jet fuel that permeated the scene. I'm sure though the whole thing was a mass illusion, and the people who watched it and the people on scene were just duped, but that fruitcake knows what the real deal is.
Here's a page with a photo of aircraft wreckage from the site, with an eloquent interpretation by someone with a clue.

The AA 757-200 Pentagon Wreckage Photo Is Authentic

From Dr. Russell R. Bingman, Col. US Army (Ret)

Dear Jeff,

First of all, the commentary from the peanut gallery of junior photo analysts clearly suggests that NONE of them has ever been closer to an American Airlines jetliner than 36,000 feet below one, nor have any of them ever been around a crash site.

Secondly, some of the ridiculous speculation, and discounting of the wreckage, clearly shows that they are either all color blind, or viewing on a black & white monitor! Perhaps their alma mater is the Jethro Bodine double naught spy school?

The wreckage is clearly authentic, is a part of the original photo, and NOT a PhotoShop fake job. Neither is there any powder blue paint on the metal, and the metal in question is certainly NOT an "engine cowling."

The wreckage in the photo is the letter "n" from "American" on the forward, port side of the aircraft (that's the left side as you set in the plane, facing forward, just in case the novices are confused about such technical nomenclature). The rows of rivet holes, and the tear direction of the metal, dictate that it had to come from the port side. And contrary to Ted's babble about "rivets support the underlying structure," they do not. Anybody who knows ANYTHING about aircraft, knows that riveting serves but one function: To hold the skin to the underlying structure! These geniuses also quite obviously never seen aircraft wreckage, and it sounds like Ted's never seen aviation rivets except for a blurry view in a bad photo. This photo clearly shows rivet tearing around the holes.

The top portion of the aluminum appears white in the photo. This is actually direct sunlight, causing the illusion. The photographer apparently had a Polaroid filter on over the lens, to prevent glare. The two areas that appear to be powder blue, are nothing more than areas where there is no direct sunlight hitting the metal, and further evidence of a Polaroid filter in use.

As a former helicopter pilot, who has had to repair aircraft skin, torn under a variety of circumstances, and having seen dozens of aircraft crashes, I know what the scenes look like, the debris and the wreckage. It is not surprising that this piece of metal shows no burns. When any aircraft impacts a solid object at high speed, the FIRST thing that happens is structural explosion from the force of the impact, which blows a lot of pieces of an aircraft's skin clear of the impact area. The SECOND reaction to a high speed impact, is the explosion of the fuel. Any aviation engineer, experienced pilot or structural engineer will confirm this.

This situation reminds me of the DC Sniper shootings: Rank amatures and arm chair detectives, all lacking the necessary "tools" to make assessments and evaluations, letting their imaginations run wild, and then making up "facts" that are not facts at all, in hopes of getting some attention for themselves. Get a life! Get some education while you're at it, too!!

Dr. Russell R. Bingman,
Col. USA (ReT

To answer your question Simon, either the engines disintegrated, or just as likely, whatever was left of them is in the building.

This guy just copied a French site which stated that everything that happened on Sept.11 2001 was a CIA/FBI conspiracy to give the US government an excuse to act against Afghanistand and France (remember relations between France and the US chilled conciderably as France supported Iraq and to a lesser degree Afghanistan?).
It's on the same line as people believing TWA800 was shot down by the US armed forces because some important person was on board, or Area 51 housing aliens who help the US government with mind control over the world population.
