Pakistan 108/0 in 14 overs. Thanks to Nehra, for with out him, the score might read 140/0 in 14 overs

For me the turning point was Shoaib Akhtar dropping Ganguly.
Had the catch been taken, lesser balls would have been wasted.
15(38) is un-explainable under those circumstances

Doubts are been raised about the possibility of yesterday's match been fixed !!!
Especially the way Pakistan defended last 100 runs.

I feel that the whole series is fixed. I feel that cricketers, film stars and politicians are fooling the people.

Why is that match fixing come up when India wins and when it loses. It loses most of the time, right?

Did India win the match or Pakistan lost it?
Did you noticed - number of wides been bowled by Pakistan / Not appealing vehemently for a caught behind for Kaif by Afridi / The way Pakistan batted first 30 overs / plumb LBW of Kaif / Moin Khan's batting.
Day before yes'day I watched the "Dainik Jagran" reporter from Pakistan saying that as per the bookies, Pakistan will have to and will loose tomorrow's game else there will be big loss of money for *everyone.
btw, Did you watched "Sports centre" on espn yes'day night?
Gavaskar/Shastri too doubted the Pak's approach.
But I still think India won the Match

Well, the team goal is more important than the individual records. So, I don't have any complaints on Sachin unable to make 200.
But, however, I think the declaration came a fraction too early. Why to give 16 overs to Pakistan. That is more than half a session of play! 12 overs would have been much better, for then, the batsman will try to defend the wickets till the end of day, and the chances of getting them out is more.
Also, 700 runs on board would have given a big psychological advantage to India. Think about the necessity to score 500 runs just to avoid follow-on. The pressure on the Pakistan batsmen would have been tremendous in that case.

He should have given 2 overs, with a note that declaration is on cards after that.

Not sure if india will give the follow-on. Considering the heat and temperature, nobody would like to be on field for 2 days.
Remember Australian 700+ match?

True. But victory doesn't come easy

Sydney was a different story. The problem with the Australians is the rate at which they score the runs. Say, if India offered follow-on, and Australia piles up a huge total second-innings total quickly, then India will be in all sorts of trouble batting in the last day track.
But that is unlikely with the Pakistan team. It is easy to put pressure on not-so-experienced Pakistan batsmen.
Offering a follow-on, if possible, will be the best chance to win this test.

You need to have fit and fresh legs for getting 20 wickets. And expecting 4 regular bowlers to bowl contiously for 3 days is too much. And to be realistic, it 4 bowlers on paper ... its going to be kumble only (returning from an injury) and if india enforces follow-on ... it will be second bad decision (first one being today's declaration).

Hi,
One of my friends got a mail yeasterday that Dravid had declared when Sachin was on 194 because a bookie had called him and threatened to kill his wife if Sachin hits a double century, thats why he had declared when sachin was on 194. The bookie would have lost crores of rupees had Sachin hit a double ton, do you think this is true.
Regards,
Jyothi

What do you guys have to say abt the ongoing Ind-Pak series?? Having won the ODI's, I guess the Indians have a great chance of winning the tests. Oh... This statement is purely based on the situation the Pakis have gotten into at Day 4..
What say, guys??

Very wise decision
4 wickets down and still 177 runs needed to avoid an Innings defeat.

Dravid should have allowed him to score 6 runs. It would not have changed the game but would have been a personal mailestone.
Dravid has 4 200s
Tendulkar has 3 200s
