And recent events (i.e. NSA snooping and Justice Department warrantless spying) have demonstrated that they are correct.

Who gets to decide what is "best"? American manufacturers are going to say theirs is the best, European will say theirs is, etc. Remember Betamax? How about HD-DVDs? Heck, we still have slotted screws, even though Phillips heads are clearly better from a user point, but I'm sure manufacturers will tell you slotted are easier/better.

Well We can pick something from everywhere...

And let's not forget the huge financial cost to switch. How much would it cost every household in the U.S. to switch to 220v - replacing outlets, wiring, breakers...So it would be best for the U.S. if everyone else switched to what we use, but worst for them.

I don't think there is an easy answer to what is "best". It is too subjective.

rome was not build in one day.. If you want to build a better world, it will take time and definitely cost you some money.. but I guess human mind find some alternatives for this.

There are definitely alternatives to building a better world. Blowing it up comes to mind.

Ahh yes, a true compromise. Let's make everyone hate the plan and incur heavy expenses. All so that those people who travel (which are still the minority) don't have to buy $20 power converter. That sounds like a great plan. I would vote for any politician who suggested that (<-- sarcasm).

Rome was built for a purpose and was considered generally useful. The benefits you describe here are not really worth effort let alone expense. How do you relate universal power supply and selling the same products in all markets to a better world?

Understand that this won't bring revolution in the world and very difficult for people to compromise and adopt new things. I am wondering what would be the world like when we remove difference for which we fight for?

That would be hard. We'd all need to be of the same sex, same sexuality, same skin color, same religion (or without one), same nationality, same political opinion (or probably "same opinion" in general), live in a place that has the same natural resources for everybody etc. Besides sounding like a George Orwell/Aldous Huxley kind of world, there'd be practical difficulties resulting from the first point I mentioned - continued survival would still be a goal, I assume.

hahaha that would be more worst :P .. but i like world without any boundaries/country .. i can go where ever i want to .. without any religion or a common religion and this religion should have no conditions by force.. and total freedom in a limit so that my action won't hurt others including mother nature
