Let's put it this way: I was the only Conservative in the entire department, so my viewpoints tended to be contrary to most of the philosophical "establishment". I even wrote my Senior Thesis on "Aristotle and the Common Sense Theory". I never really considered myself pragmatic: I was always more interested in the Logic and Ethics than metaphysics. I define my personal philosophical leanings as Christian Existentialism.
But for all my differences I was still embraced by my fellow students. I promise you won't find a more accepting group of people than Philosophy students (as a rule). I still think a lot of ideas are elitist, but it doesn't bother me since I've always realized that I should take everything I read with a grain of salt... sometimes a very large one!
