Did any of you shop the day after Thanksgiving (Friday)? Did you stand in the long lines? I purchased an all in one HP Printer for $69.99 at Sears.

I used to do it for many years.

My present employer has the day-after as a working day(many employees take off anyways). For a change, I did not wakeup in the wee hours and fight with others to get in to a store, as first 50 or so patrons to get 20 bucks off on something.

We did buy some good stuff at 'Garden ridge', it is a eden for home related stuff, at a reasonable price.

I saw very cheap digital cameras advertised by Fry's; but heard many of them are gone in about 2 hrs after opening of the store.

Not on your life. I had some errands to run and the traffic was terrible and everyone seemed impatient. So much for a thankful spirit!

I was in NYC for Thanksgiving, a few years ago, and my daughter, wife and mom-in-law went to Macy's, that Friday.

My son and I went to the Intrepid Museum. Infinitely more enjoyable and not even crowded.

I didn't make it this year (food poisining from Thanksgiving dinner -- ugh....), but I ususally like to run to the King of Prussia mall and watch the people. (The King of Prussia mall is the largest mall in the States in terms of number of stores -- yes, the Mall of America covers more acreage, but it has a roller-coaster in the middle of it that eliminates a good deal of retail space...)

I rarely actually buy anything the day after Thanksgiving (OK, last year I did buy the fifth Harry Potter book because FAO Schwartz was going out of business and had it for 50% off...) I just like to see the people jostling around and look at the things that they are buying (or, rather, that the stores want them to buy...)

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
