A song by Bob Dylan has the words

"She's an artist, she's okay/alright"

or something to that effect.

Anyone know the song/album and what the words mean in the context he meant.

She Belongs to Me maybe? He was probably singing about Mary-Jane.

Mary-Jane == marijuana.

Marijuana has been referred to as a woman a lot of times in numerous songs. Another song that comes to mind is Last Dance With Mary Jane by Tom Petty.

She's an artist, she don't look back.
She's got everything she needs

These words were used to describe the late Susan Sontag. I suppose the person who used these words didn't know what they were really about. Unless there's a connection I'm missing.

Dylan; Song Meanings

Did Dylan write lyrics about drugs? Maybe we are chasing shadows:
And if you hear vague traces of skippin' reels of rhyme
To your tambourine in time, it's just a ragged clown behind,
I wouldn't pay it any mind, it's just a shadow you're
Seein' that he's chasing. [Mr. Tambourine Man, Bob Dylan]

---------------------------------------
No language, just sound, that's all we need know, to synchronise
love to the beat of the show - And we could dance.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio. [Transmission, Joy Division]
