I remember when Sony was promoting the Playstation 2 and its so called "Emotion Engine" processor. It didnt live up to the hype. I think it will be more of the same with the Playstation 3 and its Cell processor.

If I undertand it correctly, the Cell processor can be clustered for greater processing power, so I wouldnt be suprised if Sony are using four of these processors running at 1GHz each, and thus claiming the "4Ghz" figure.

Besides, dont you know its all about the games? The Playstation 2 had a dreadful line up of games when it was released - I waited at least two years (and a much more affordable price) before it had a decent catalogue of games built up before I bought one.
