Looking for a case for memory sticks

foreseeing a library of about 10 memory sticks at least, assuming they can be used easily.

There's this one
Memory stick case but one that could be directly ported to a computer would be useful.

Firefox runs brilliantly off a memory stick but Eclipse is a bit of a dog. I guess it needs more memory/better memory/processing power.

How much Sony/other memory stick cost?Last week I enquired,it was Rs 6000 for 128MB.Not at all affordable.

I got an Integral Made in Korea 128MB for �19.99.

Rs 1200/- ? There wasn't enough memory to run Eclipse. I have to use a PC that is configured to let you bring your own tools and save them on your own memory. No writing to CDs. In fact anything that might make the PC crash. Gawd knows where the Run Command has been hidden away. Not that that is needed with Eclipse.


In addition, can use any Windows PC on the move, with the right ports. Most computer using facilities have them now, libraries, internet coffee kiosks, offices.

Presume Norton Ant Virus knocks the viruses on the head as soon as they pop up in addition to a mini corporate type firewall.

Norton's been compromised. A serious buffer overflow exploit was posted yesterday (or was that wednessday)...

1GB sticks are now relatively cheap (under �100), so why go for more expensive (per MB) 128MB sticks?

Thats 100*80=8000 Rs.Still alot.If you add further 1 stick,and add 50 pounds,you get a brand new PC with Linux for that price.Price needs to come down.

1 GB is on my list. �50 would be the price I'd pay.
I've no idea how much space Eclipse extracted requires.

PC World or Maplins in any big town or big superstore shopping areas like Bluewater or in Croydon. I am not sure they do Dell, though. I believe Dell support their computers from India (and sales now).

I suspect highly ethical boroughs wouldn't allow these stores to open.

If you want to use a memory stick like a hard drive inside a case, why don't you just buy an external hard drive that runs off of usb 2. You are talking cheap:

They don't seem to do it here though 250GB seems to be about the max and pretty back-breaking.

The on-line stores seem pretty competitive price-wise.

Look out for the guy who discovered specs cost �7 to manufacture and started to market them from his mothers living room. Specs now cost �30 instead of �150 upwards. add �40 for thin lenses.

I found a stack of these but can't remember if any other software is required to store data on them. They appear to be write protected.

Hmmm. Designed for use with an LS-120 drive. Disappeared with an old computer three years ago.

I did find a 400GB external hard drive for �379.00 but opted for a hard drive enclosure instead for �50-00.
I think it needs a boot of some sort to work properly. A big lump of metal at the end of a metre long USB connection.

Yes, an electrical connection. I'd have thought electricity would be free by now.

Look out for optical disks storing 25G per layer and presumably the layers are infinite and multi-dimensional.

Then there's the 'millipede' data storage - a tiny mechanical millipede with metal punches for legs, walks over some homogenous layer and punches holes in the layers. Presumably applying heat can remove the punched holes and the medium becomes re-writable.
