Motorola phones

(I'm not an expert in these fields), What do you think about Motorola mobile phones ?
Personally, I find Seimens and SE mobile phones are the best...

Well there are many fine features with SE, Motorola, Seimens, and Nokia. It always depends on what you are looking for. And believe me, sometimes none of them have exactly what you are looking for. SE, Nokia, and Seimens seems to be the most advanced J2ME minded. Meaning they have more phones that have the latest APIs. I find that Motorola are still in MIDP 1.0. Nokia seems to be more advanced, but sometimes too high for the general public. Seimens seems to fill the phones with the most APIs. Personally I am looking at buying the Seimen's S66, the SE s710a, and I like Nokia's 7710, but that one is not out yet.

What is SE?

I use a Motorola. With my experience with Samsung, they do pack lot of features but reliability is a little on par compared to Motorola.

i am under the impression that phone service is more important than phone. you won't reach the limits of phone, but you can easily reach the limit of service.

Actually, I am moving service to a lesser company to get the phone that I want. I have Verizon which has Bru, which doesn't support Java J2ME, but Verizon does have the best service. I still can't find the exact phone, with the exact features that I want.

When it comes to UI and useful user interface, SE is the best. Nokia is all-round a good phone in terms of relaibility, UI and features -- bt I don't like the way Nokia looks. Samsung has some really nice & innovative models with good build quality even in entry level an mid-range models, I wish they had better ring volume though.

As for Motorola, I was just speechless when I first saw Motorola V3 RAZR, the build quality, looks/design is simply too good. The UI is sluggish and lot features are missing that I have even in my 1 year old Sony phone.

But for a very good looking, durable phone, Motorola V3 and V3i are really good.

I got a Black RAZR V3 - so far its been far better than my prev Motorola V400...I had to buy a bluetooth headset since i was s**t scared of dropping it while handling...its very delicate to handle and black fone retains ur fingerprints

Between me and my wife, we've had six different phones. I started "way back when" with a Moto Star Tac flip phone. Then Nokia became the next big thing, so that was my next one. Now that I've tried both the "clam shell" flip design and the nokia "brick" design, I'm always going to go with a clam shell. Your milage may vary.

Motorola versus everyone else:
In my experience, Motorolas have better reception and sound quality and can survive being dropped more. However, their menu structure is obnoxious and slow. Given the ratio of time I spend talking on the phone to the time I spend setting it up, I'm willing to pay some UI convenience to get the better reception and sound. The battery life is longer than any of my previous phones. Oh, and the buttons take a little getting used to.

I thought the height and width of the RAZR would be obnoxious, regardless of the (lack of) thickness. On the contrary; even though the RAZR bigger around than a credit card, it's thinness keeps from making a big lump in my front pocket. (No off-color jokes please).

We're currently looking for a new phone for my wife and gave the ROKR a try. It has the same good reception and sound as my RAZR, plus it's an MP3 player. The MP3 ability isn't a big deal since she already has a separate player. But there's certainly nothing wrong with the ROKR if you like the non-clam shell brick design.

Although I haven't tried it out, I'd bet the SLVR has the same good sound and reception as the other two. It's a coin toss between the SLVR and the RAZR. Clam shell or brick?

My previous phone was a Samsung x427. It was a perfectly good phone: easy to use menus, pretty good sound, pretty good reception. It was thicker than my current RAZR, but still not horrible. Now that my current phone has an external display to show who's calling BEFORE I open the phone, I don't know how I got along without that feature on the Sansung.

Oh, and camera phones. They're good for information gathering. I used my RAZR to "take notes" about the different garden sheds available at Home Depot. I just walked down the row of display models taking pictures of the sheds and features/price tags. But I wouldn't use it to take family portraits or anything like that.
