I am one of the fan of Ash. When I saw first time in coke adv. I said she would touch the sky.. and now she is.

I am sure if God exist then he must have gone out of his control after creating Ash... [Apologies for making Him male figure :-|, He could be She too]

But its about neither Ash nor God's gender ....

Its about marketting herself and hence bollywood..
clip 1
clip 2
clip 3

Bollywood as it is, currently churns out maximum number of movies in the world. It has viewership in India, Pakistan, Middle east, Africa, USA, UK, other european countries, eastern asian countries etc. Much larger viewership than any movie industry in the world.

Now I think it wants to stand taller than what it is.

So here is Ash marketting herself and bollywood together, trying to capture another continent. I am sure even Shahrukh Khan has not got this honor to represent bollywood to larger audience than Ash.

AW so we have musicals .. so what... why not market it.. God damn, Great idea. I dont know whose idea was it, but it is wonderful idea, market musicals.
Yes, bollywood makes movies with songs and dances. Do you make it?
And thats bollywood USP. Buy it, enjoy it, dont enjoy .. go for a change to see musical...

When it comes to marketing, industry can market anything. [As marketing Gurus say, you need to know how to market it, you can sell anything]

Think of it, Ash had to woo western audience for bollywood, what could be the best way.. do you think it would appeal someone if someone comes infront of TV screen in alien dress? She came infornt of camera in western dress, posing herself as religious and very much down to earth to Indian customs. Ahaa.. in first shot she is western but inside as truly Indian as anyone could be... I like this marketing. Nothing could be better than that [or could be??].

I would really like to know Tony's thought about this marketting, what were his views when he had been watching it live ?

I dont know how many buyers are there out but I like the marketing.

Just to check the meter, how many of you thought of watching "Bride and prejudice" after watching/listening about her or "Gurinder Chadha" ?
I am not asking whether you watched it or not .. but have thought of watching a movie of world's most beautiful women.

And Indians .. I hope everyone enjoyed the clips
Most welcome to add anything other than appraisal of Ash's beauty.[I can write one Gazal/song/book on her ]

I once have watched Bollywood movie in TV.
To win me as customer for Bollywood movies they should change concept:
Stop with all the singing stuff and just interview that woman.
The interviews are very good.
That's just my taste and I am not big cinema visitor anyway.

I think what a lot of people make actually sympathize is this mixture of hormon-production friendly dress (esp. Letterman) and there is an inteligent woman with explicits roots in the culture of her ancestors. I think this is popular in the west for a lot of people. My mothers family - for example - has far more traditions than my fathers family. And I know these people much better. With traditions there are allways individuums getting in conflict with those traditions, but it keeps people together.

Thats what they want to market.
Strategy might change, but what I see, bollywood has to market itself with songs only. The viewership I am talking about is biggest viewership... they cant get just drop musics.

Actually there are lot of good stuff in Hindi movie songs, which are lost somewhere when they are subtitles.
I can say everything what I want to say in Hindi movie songs.

Even my wordings about God after creation of Ash, is from one of Hindi/Urdu song. [if I am not wrong them singer is Md. Rafi]

The interviews are very good.
I believe that till Ash, Ms. India were beauty with brain. She knows what to say and when [I told you i am fan of Ash ]

Its the way of survival in changing world.

So after last year's "shining India" campaign, time to start "shining Bollywood"campaign?
Does Aishwarya Rai pays complete Income Tax? Bollywood people are notorious for tax evasion and dealing with smugglers/Drug dealers.

And I will say most honest.

Amitabh Bachhan paid more than 100 crore back to Doordarshan and Govt.

Priti Zinta stand against the case D-company.

And current economy makes only us(salaried person) to pay tax. Tell me who else pays actual tax. From Tata to foodWorld to General/Fancy store next to your house. No business house/person pays tax.

And for Ash, I think she should be exempted from all tax liabilities

I think you are right. But shining India was within India but shining Bollywood needs to attract world mass with different culture, ideas, lif style.

You cant expect "Julie" or "Kya Kehna" to be hit in west where its common to first get pregnant and then think of marriage.

So they have to sell things as it is, but still with added values...

Its really tough marketting..... and I think Ash alone cant do much. Bollywood would need to be more commercial and need to market all together. I can see, west is thriving for bollywood non-sense drama ;-).

Two years back the same Bachhan met ex Prime minister requesting him to stop income tax officials from raiding his residence.

But did she reveal any of the names of directors, producers who take money from these sumuggling syndicates for making films? I also stand against D Company, right here.

Well, I dont know if this is for real, but the explanation I read was that they need to store fresh food and stuff somewhere so that it wont freeze over hence they need a fridge but I dont think it will be a fridge or refrigerator as we know it, it probably is the tummy of the seal that they caught the previous week or some thing like that!

Sorry, I've nothing to add to the main thread!
