Can the K&B book be used as a complete guide to the exam? I mean if something is not there can we take it as a guarantee that, that part is not in the exam?
I have seen questions about Interface reference variable casting, daemon threads and some other topics not in that book, in some mock exams.

Many mock exams on the net have question regarding topics which are not in objectives. Like you mentioned daemon threads which are not in objectives. But I think integer reference variable casting that you mentioned is not a big topic and I think you can get questions from that...

I would say, for API contents questions , you need to open the java API and glance thru most common methods and examples as K&B book does not cover all the API methods in that detail.
This book is a good certification guide but again practicing and running code snippets yourself would take you far.

The K&B book covers everything that you need to know for the exam.

Read K&B thouroughly.
Pracitce mock exams given in the links for SCJP 1.5 mock exams on this site.
More than enough for getting a 90+ score.
Don't worry about anything else.

cheers!
