It is surprising to see that USA Today is behind the crap and useless TOI. USA Today is pretty good newspaper. I liked it very much. I hope that more people will read it and push TOI to the bottom.

TOI is too much into flattering itself. They need to send a TOI marketeer to R.V.College in Bangalore (where I'm from) and note the print that they waste.

I'd take a NY Times or The Oklahoman anyday.

With the Mumbai Edition of TOI, they are giving Mumbai Mirror ( a newly launched tabloid from same group to cop Mid Day) free of cost. A day will come when we will get TOI free with Mumbai Mirror or other publication from same group….lol

I have seen the ad of Handstand Times on TV and I like the ad. They will soon launch in Mumbai. I like the hording by DNA too.

Hey one more thing, in Gujarat all regional news papers ( Gujarat Samachar, Sandesh, Divya Bhashkar) has started gift scheme – since last year or so. Daily you will get a couple printed in newspaper, you need to cut all coupons for a month and reimburse gift against it.

Previously all Gujju Pappas and Mammies use to start their day by saying with “Jai Shree Krishna”(A phrase to apprise Lord Krishna) , but now all Gujju Pappas and Mammies start their day asking “Aaj Nu Kupan Kapyu Ke?” ( Have you cut today’s coupon?)….lol

That is the trick. They start by giving something free and when they have trapped enough people they will charge for it. TOI entered into states like Karnataka by charging less for the newspaper and later increased the price. Trash(TOI)people are smart business guys . Sad part is there are lot of people who fall prey to their tricks.

Yeah but, you can cheat few peoples for all the times, all the peoples for sometime, but not all the people all the time.

Let see what happened with TOI- Mumbai once HT and DNA enter into the market.

Hindustan Times has been bigger trash than TOI.
Actually TOI started becoming trash in early 90s because of HT only.
HT became no. 1 paper in UP and Delhi at that time and still in Delhi HT is giving tough time to TOI.

So TOI also becomes like HT.

And what a irony, now people have hope with HT ..

Yeah, a friend of mine told me this before. But I haven’t read Hindu yet, I don’t see that it is available on newsstand in Mumbai. It is very much there in south.

Same with the Telegraph of Calcutta.

I found that Gujaratmitra – a newspaper from Surat/Gujarat in Gujarti language- is also very good and neutral.

In India, if you apear in Time magazine anyhow, people and media consider it as a big achievement. Is the Time really the best? I have not read Time magazine yet.

Today Hindustan Times launched in Mumbai.

They started the inning with a headline usually tabloids has – link between Bolllywood actor Salman Khan and underworld.

Hindustan Times will 'die' after a period of time.TOI management/owners are filthy rich and are notorious to go to any extent to 'kill' competitor.Additionally they have regional Marathi newspaper Maharashtra Times through which they can ask Marathi readers to stay away from this 'North Indian' newspaper.

If you go to Flora Fountains, you can see a huge hording on a building towards East, saying BMC is discriminating newspaper other then TOI for advertisement hoarding. They are claiming that BMC has done some favor to TOI for the hoardings you see on Best Bus Stops. This can’t be false, as they have displayed this in on a huge hording in public and they are aware of the co-sequences if the claim is false.

One more thing, if you really want to see the funniest talk show of Indian TV and how the so called high-profile media person of India really don’t know how to take interview, just turn on the Aajtak and see Sidhi Baat by Prabhu Chawla.

And their slogan is also very contradicting to their behavior - “Let Truth Prevail”. They should make it : “Not Let Competitor Prevail”.
