There is certainly a plethora of frameworks to choose from. NetBeans does not push a choice of framework on you. There are plugins for several popular frameworks such as Struts, Wicket, Spring and others.
Out of the box, NetBeans includes outstanding support for JSF, which is an excellent choice for a component based framework.
Since NetBeans doesn't push a particular framework or language, NetBeans supports PHP and Ruby out of the box, and there are plugins for Grails and other scripting language, as well as a plugin for Java FX development.
