Visual Design (Swing) editor in Eclipse - where?

Hi,

I'm trying to get to the Visual Editor in Eclipe. The manual says: "The visual editor for Java, by default, shows the Design view above the Source view on a split pane."

I don't see this, and can't for the life of me see how to get to it. I have tried a number of views and perspectives. Please can you tell me how to activate the design view in Eclipse.

I am running Eclipse Ganymede (BIRT edition).

Desired outcome: The split screen view presented at the Visual Editor for Java User Guide, http://help.eclipse.org/help32/index.jsp

i think visual editor only works with eclipse 3.2 and older, you can try jigloo but i dont really like it, i find jform's designer the best app for creating GUIs(external app) but it`s paid. i'm trying miglayout right now, it's pretty good but you code by hand.
