I have downloaded BEA jrockit for java 6. This is the version:

java version "1.6.0_05"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_05-b13)
BEA JRockit(R) (build R27.6.0-50_o-100423-1.6.0_05-20080626-2105-windows-ia32, c
ompiled mode)

when I try to create dump using the option -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError, it says invalid option.

C:\myfolder>java -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError OOM1
[WARN ] -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError is not a valid VM option. Ignoring
Exception in thread "Main Thread" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: requested array is
larger than heap
at OOM1.main(OOM1.java:5)

But it works with Sun JRE.

Is it not supported in JROCKIT or is there any alternate option for this?

As the Java tool documentation details, -X options are non-standard and subject to change. I don't know if there is any alternative in JRocket.
Yes, my master! Here is the tiny ad you asked for:
