I've lived here my whole life, so it seems normal to me. I am told that others find this quite odd, though.

In St. Louis, when you go around trick-or-treating, you have to tell a joke to the person giving out candy.

so, I have a joke (stolen from "Mythbusters").

What is blue and smells like red paint?

This is Zachary's (my four-year-old's) favorite joke! That, and the "interrupting cow" one.

I don't have a short joke, but here is one that I like...

A [deletion for PC] walks into a shoe store, notices a really nice pair of alligator shoes, and asks... How much are those? $300 responds the salesman. What? For $300, It'll be cheaper to shoot an alligator and get a pair myself.

The salesman didn't think much of the statement, til later in the day, on his way home, he notices the same person wading in water. She has a shotgun in hand. And next to her, is a big pile of dead alligators.

An alligator moves towards her. She raises her gun, and shoots it. She then swims out, and drags the alligator to shore. Flips the alligator. And ... Damn!! Another alligator without shoes !!

...where PC = "politically correct" to be gender neutral, right?

I was trying to figure out how this fit with the ad in which Bill Gates (aka "PC") buys a pair of shoes with Jerry.
