This is specific to indian politics and may not interest many.

http://in.rediff.com/news/2005/dec/18sayeed.htm
this article mentions that PM Sayeed winning streak was halted by young member Muthu Koya in May 2004 general elections.

but other articles mentioned a Dr Pookunji Koya who defeated him.
for eg the article found here
http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/6996_755839,0016005500030005.htm

Does anyone know who actually defeated him and if Muthu Koya and Dr Pookunji Koya are the same person.
if you know anything about em and maybe come across a picture/write-ups of em Please let me know.
Thanks

Chetan /Dharam,
These contradiction articles on the net are what got be confused.
Well Dr. K P Muthu Koya was a very close friend of mine when he was in bangalore many years back. he used to live with us when he was studing medicine.
I was very sure he got into politics and had lost to Sayeed earlier when he first got into politics.
The other day when i read about the demise of Sayeed i noticed that he was beaten by "Muthu Koya". Its really crazy that indian politics is not documented properly especially since Lakshadweep is such a small constituency and still hardly anyone is aware of whats going on there.
I tried contacting people back at home but with no luck.
Dharam since you go on so much about VS is it possible to get some accurate info.

Because you wrote:

And India doesn’t have too many young politicians. Most of them are around 50, so I felt that you are the eldest on JR.

You are right.
He is also in that age group. His kids are a few years younger than me.
As i mentioned he used to live with me so thats that.
I really wish its him thats doing well in the Indian politics down under.
since most of my family are globally spread around its quite hard to get in touch with him.
Is it possible to find his contact details on the net. i know the name of the island in lakshadweep where he lives.its called Kavarathi.
do we have any online whitepages or the likes for a land(island haha)number or mobile.

Just a little off track from the topic, PM Sayeed who I mentioned about in the start of the topic entered politics at the age of 25 and was undefeated 9 times.
but yes this is very rare.
