.bat file calling another .bat file

Hi All
I need to write a dos batch file which first starts the JBoss server(using run.bat) and then launch Internet explorer pointing to a URL. I read on the net that if a bat file calls anotehr bat file, the control doesn't return. I've used Call and /C option already to no benefit.
Appreciate if someone can help.
Any otehr way to achieve this objective(start JBoss and then start IE) is also welcome.
