Hi All,
Thanks in advance.
Could any one tell me what are the different advantages of IBM Tivoli.
I searched google but always it is showing some policy related stuff.
I want to monitor my application using Tivoli.I did some R&D by seeing sessions, connection pooling.
But I want to do actual performance monitoring.
I am confused with the through put chat it is showing.

And one last thing is what is the difference between Wily and this Tivoli?.
How to configure Wily on my server?
Is Wily open source or can I find any trial version of this.

Please help me.

Tivoli Performance Viewer (TPV) is used to monitor the system health . From V6.0 onwards its integrated with Websphere Application Server. Here is the info center link to TPV.

Where as Wily is CA product which is also used for same, but with more bells and whistles.

There are two parts to install Wily.
1) Install the Wily Manager
2) Install the jar files in your WAS node and then add the autoprobe.jar (dont remember the other jar files) to the JVM arguments.
BTW when you decide to install wily, the instrumentation steps will be in the documentation.

Personally I would suggest to start with TPV and then look at Wily.

Consider Paul's rocket mass heater.
